ABOUT

The QTF Academy is an initiative designed to cater for all levels of the community whether it’s the Discovery Phase of fun and excitement through touch football games and activities through to the dynamic sport of touch football where we will provide development and pathway opportunities for players who are aspiring to play touch football at an elite level. It also assists in the development of coaches, where key learnings and skills can be applied across both Touch Football and the NRL.

Q Discovery Academy
The Q Discovery Academy is for boys and girls aged between 6-11 years. The program targets the discovery phase of development, focusing on enjoyment and fun with emphasis on building a love for the game. This is achieved through simple skills in a sequence, small-sided games and encouraging creative play. We recommend the Q Discovery Academy for players of all skill levels to come along and experience the fun of touch football.

Q Development Academy
The Q Development Academy is for boys and girls aged between 11-16 years. The program targets the foundation and talent stages of development, focusing on performing skills in modified Touch Football drills. This is achieved through short demonstration mixed with practice, skill correction and progression of drill. We recommend the Q Development Academy for players looking to build on their Touch Football skillset.

Q Performance Academy
This is a 6-session touch football clinic for competitive athletes aged between 13-18 years looking to elevate their game. This academy is delivered to regional and metro areas and is designed to improve all facets of the athlete’s game on the field through game training scenarios.

Coach Development 
The Coach Development program is a train the trainer coaching program designed to workshop with Coaches utilising theory classroom sessions and practical outdoor sessions. The aim is to work with Affiliate and School coaches and upskill both delivery methods and touch football content through resources and activities. These can be tailored to suit all levels of coaches and can include coach accreditation courses and dovetails into the QTF Academies Program.

CLINICS & TOURS

QTF Holiday Clinics
The Q Holiday Clinics are a Queensland Touch Football program comprised of the Q Discovery and Q Development Academy. These clinics cater for children from the ages of 6-16 years and focus on the discovery, foundation, and talent phases of development. All clinics are delivered by Queensland Touch Football Staff and cost $40 per person per session. Each child registered to the clinics will receive QTF Academy apparel.

QTF Academy Tours
The QTF Academy Tour is a combination of our Discovery, Development and Performance Academies and typically includes coach development opportunities. QTF travels around the state during key times of the year such as school holidays, delivering key sessions collaboratively with the local Affiliates.

QTF also delivers select Academy programs in Schools.

Presented by The Fit Lab, the Q Youth Academy is a three day intensive touch football training camp is for athletes aged 12 – 17, targeted at those looking to enhance their current skills & knowledge. A stepping stone up from the QTF Academies, the camp includes agility and fitness testing, body management and injury prevention while gaining an elite introduction to what it takes to be at the top of your game and perform at the highest level. At the Youth Academy both boys and girls Under 14 and Under 16 players will get to to represent their NRL Touch Premiership Broncos, Cowboys and Titans Permits.
