ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Funded by the Australian Sports Commission Women Leaders in Sport Grant the Queensland Touch Football ‘Women Leaders in Touch Football’ program was launched in 2023, giving QTF the opportunity to support female participants who wish to advance their leadership capabilities within their local affiliate, regional or state body.

This program provided women in touch football the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and enhance their ability to guide and lead our touch communities through the support and mentorship of the program and facilitator Sue Cormack.

Sue is a well-known leadership consultant with an impressive 30+ years’ experience in sport and recreation. For more than 10 years, Sue has been conducting leadership training for Sport Australia, working with female leaders across state and national sporting organisations and through the facilitation of this program, brought a wealth of knowledge and assistance to our female leaders.

This exciting initiative kicked off on Tuesday 2 May with a face to face session, followed by 6 weekly online sessions.

Fourteen (14) participants took part in the  program, representing a range of female leaders across the state, including Coaches, Referees, Affiliate Committee and administrators, as well as QTF Board and staff members:
