A new affiliate, Miles Touch Association from the South West Queensland region, is already making waves in the touch football community.
Joining the likes of Dysart Touch Association and Callide Valley Junior Touch (Biloela), who became affiliates in 2023, Miles Touch Association marks another significant addition to the growth of Touch Football in Queensland, bringing the total number of affiliates to 77.
Jodie May, South West Queensland Regional Administrator, expressed her enthusiam, stating, “We’re thrilled to contribute to the growth of touch football in our region. This affiliation presents local players, coaches and referees in and around Miles with invaluable opportunities for official competition and avenues for progression within the sport through the alignment with SWQ and Queensland Touch Football.”
Queensland Touch Football Sport Operations Manager, Sam Heath, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the positive impact of affiliating with new associations.
“We’re excited to be working with Miles Touch Association to promote the sport of touch football within their local area. This expansion reflects the increasing popularity of the game and provides more opportunities for the community of all ages to get involved,” Heath remarked.
Miles Touch Association’s senior mixed competition is currently underway with 8 teams already, and anticipation for further growth is high for touch football in this region.
