The State of Origin is the pinnacle of domestic touch football in Australia, with Queensland and New South Wales clashing for Touch Football supremacy.

New South Wales Touch Football will host the 2025 State of Origin Series, with dates and venue to be announced.

Queensland Touch Football will field teams in 18 divisions, striving to bring home Origin honours after coming so close in 2022.

2025 State of Origin Divisions:
Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Mixed Open
Men’s 20, Women’s 20
Men’s 30, Women’s 27, Senior Mixed
Men’s 35, Women’s 35, Men’s 40, Women’s 40
Men’s 45, Women’s 45, Men’s 50, Women’s 50 – Invitational, Men’s 55, Men’s 60

 

Expressions of Interest

COACHES & MANAGERS

Expressions of interest for Queensland Team Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Managers are OPEN. Coaches and Managers wanting to be considered for positions must ensure that they have read and fully understand the Appointment Guidelines and Role & Responsibilities statement relevant to the position.

Coach and Manager EOIs close 5pm Sunday 19 May 2024.

 

PLAYER SQUAD SELECTIONS

Expressions of Interest will be made available via the QTF website and will OPEN on 26 August 2024 August and CLOSE 5pm Monday 7 October 2024.

Squads will be finalised following 2024 Qld State Cup to attend  selection camps in early 2025. Players wanting to be considered for selection for Queensland Squads must:

  • Complete an online Expression of Interest – Opens 26 August 2024.
  • Participate in the 2024 Qld State Cup – Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December, Coomera Sports Precinct, Gold Coast.
  • Be available for the relevant compulsory Selection Camps – final Team Selection.

If you are named in a Qld Squad but cannot attend the Selection Camp due to extenuating circumstances, we will require detailed Talent Identification Information to support your selection and reasoning for non-attendance.

 

SELECTION CAMPS

The Queensland State of Origin selection trials will be held over two weekends at locations to be advised. With a very congested calendar of events and potential clashes, the following dates have been finalised. Selection trials will be a full day Saturday and half-day Sunday.

Selection Trial 1 – Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th January 2025 (tbc)
Venue to be advised
Divisions: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Men’s 30, Women’s 27, Men’s 35, Women’s 35, Men’s 40s, Women’s 40s, Men’s 45.

Selection Trial 2 – Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd February 2025 (tbc)
Venue to be advised
Divisions: Mixed Open, Senior Mixed, Men’s 20, Women’s 20, Women’s 45, Men’s 50s, Women’s 50s (Invitational), Men’s 55s and Men’s 60s.

The second trial will enable those players not selected in Trial 1 and eligible for other Divisions to be selected.

Queensland Teams for the 2025 State of Origin will be finalised post the respective Selection Camp.
