What is VETiS?

Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) is a program that enables students to gain nationally recognised qualifications while at school. Students learn skills and knowledge required for specific industries.

VETiS can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, and can count towards the Queensland Certificate of Education.

The VETiS program provides you with the opportunity to gain:

  • practical hands-on training
  • valuable skills for greater employability
  • credit towards a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
  • real skills and qualifications while completing high school
  • a competitive edge in the employment marketplace
  • credit towards further study

How is VETiS funded in Queensland?

  1. Schools—many schools are also registered training organisations (school RTOs) and deliver VETiS training to students. The majority of VETiS training in Queensland is delivered and resourced by schools’ RTOs.
  2. Training (VET investment budget)—provides funding to any RTO that is approved by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training as a pre-qualified supplier (PQS).

Can students undertake any VETiS qualification?

Students undertaking VETiS, which is funded by the VET investment budget, can choose from a range of certificate I and II level qualifications, referred to as employment stream qualifications.

Students undertaking VETiS, funded by the VET investment budget, can complete one employment stream qualification at the certificate I or II level.

Students must be enrolled in formal education and reside in Queensland as permanent residency, or New Zealand citizenship. International students are not eligible for funding.

What are the course fees?

VETiS funded by the Queensland Government’s VET investment budget is fee-free for eligible students.  Where students access their VETiS subsidy for the qualification.

Participant fee waived to all VETiS funded students in.

  • SIS20115 Certificate II in Sport and Recreation

If a student/s has already utilised their VETiS subsidy CSF will negotiate an agreement to suit all parties.

What are the delivery options?

CSF can provide:

  • A qualified Trainer to assist in the delivery
  • CSF staff to assist and support a teacher with an online platform to follow
  • Provide industry guests to assist or engage with students in a variety of projects, event based around the course
