Queensland Touch Football is excited to announce the Gold Coast will once again play host to its 10-day long ‘Festival of Touch’, which is set to take place from the 24 November – 3 December this year, thanks to the ongoing support of Major Events Gold Coast.

The festival is a celebration of all things touch football and includes 6 events bookended by two flagship events, the Queensland State Cup and Queensland All Nations.

The Queensland State Cup (24-26 Nov), supported by Tourism & Events QLD is a pinnacle event for adult touch football, creating pathway opportunities for those athletes wanting to represent their State and Country. The Queensland All Nations (2-3 Dec) tournament, although competitive, is more social and celebrates the heritage and culture of members of the touch community and is proudly supported by Queensland Government.

The weeklong festival also includes key educational and professional development opportunities available for the Affiliate administrators, committees, and coaches through the Queensland Touch Football Affiliate Conference (27 Nov) and primary and secondary school coaches and individual sport enthusiasts through the Queensland Sports Performance Conference (27 Nov). Both these events are proudly supported by the City of Gold Coast and provide the opportunity to these people to improve their professional development, networking, and engagement.

The touch football community will also have a chance to come together to celebrate the achievements of its members, at the Queensland Touch Football Awards (27 Nov).

There is something for everyone, on North Kirra Beach, the next generation of secondary school, touch football stars will come together at the South East Queensland Schools Gala Day (30 Nov).

“Save the date and get set to lace up the boots for 10 days of the best touch football action in Australia,” said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.

“This event has been a huge coup for our city and the 2023 carnival promises to raise the bar again. I can’t wait.”

The festival overall is a perfect opportunity for families and friends to enjoy the chance to socialise amongst other Touchies, to connect, play touch football, celebrate and learn whilst enjoying the beautiful Gold Coast.
