Queensland Touch Football (QTF) has appointed Troy Morgan as Chairman of the QTF Board. This follows the decision of long serving Chairman Gavin Shuker, who is nearing the completion of his maximum two terms on the Board, to stand aside to allow for the transition of leadership.
Shuker says, “I have been fortunate to have served as QTF Chairman for the past six years, and with only 6 months remaining on the QTF Board, I wanted to ensure there was smooth transition of leadership and knowledge. I will remain on the Board to give support to Troy during my final term.’’
Morgan initially joined the QTF Board in June 2015 and was re-elected for a further two-year term at the 2020 AGM. Troy has a longstanding history with the sport representing Queensland from 1999 and Australia with more than 50 caps including four World Cups. This history accompanied with his vast board experience and successful business background make him an excellent candidate to succeed Shuker as the QTF Chairman.
Morgan says, “I’m extremely honoured and privileged to be appointed Chairman of the QTF Board. The vision the Board has for the sport in Queensland is exciting and I am looking forward to steering this direction as we continue to unite, inspire, and grow our great sport in the years ahead. This is an exciting time for QTF, as we continue towards a new strategic planning cycle.’’
QTF CEO Greg Denny acknowledges both the contribution of outgoing Chairman Shuker and welcomes the enthusiasm and expertise that Morgan brings to the organisation.
