Queensland Touch Football is proud to announce a major partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland to support the Bundaberg Cup, one of Australia’s richest touch football tournaments, returning to the Greg Duncan Touch Fields in Bundaberg on 7–8 February 2026.

Proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland, the Bundaberg Cup continues to foster mateship, community spirit, and competitive sporting opportunities in one of Queensland’s most iconic regions.

In a major boost for grassroots development, touch football’s national and state coaches will deliver a Junior Development Clinic on Friday evening, 6 February, to kick off the weekend. The clinic will cater to juniors aged 7-14, offering invaluable insights and training for aspiring players who live in regional and rural Queensland.

Alongside the development clinic, the Bundaberg Cup will introduce a Corporate Fast 4s-style competition on Friday night – a fun and fast-paced format designed to engage local businesses and newcomers to the sport. It’s the perfect entry point for those looking to experience the thrill of touch football in a social and inclusive setting.

Queensland rugby league legend and QTF Brand Ambassador Scott Prince shared his enthusiasm for the event:

“The Bundaberg Cup is a highlight on the social touch football calendar. As a player myself over the years, it’s one of the best weekends to enjoy the game with your mates. The mix of competition and community spirit makes it truly special.”

The Bundaberg Cup tournament will feature Junior, Senior, and Mixed divisions, with a total prize pool of $15,000, making it one of the most lucrative touch football events in the country. The competition is open to all – whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game.

Queensland Minister for Environment and Tourism, Andrew Powell, said the state government is proud to support the Bundaberg Cup through the Homegrown: Queensland Destination Events Fund again in 2026.

“The Bundaberg Cup is a true festival of community football, with a program of events designed to encourage mass participation across all age groups, abilities and experience levels,” Minister Powell said.

“Across the weekend, the Bundaberg Cup is expected to attract more than 6,000 attendees and provide an anticipated $750,000 boost to the state’s economy.”

Early bird team nominations open today, Wednesday 12 November, via bundabergcup.qldtouch.com.au.
