Following the Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s announcement this morning, Greater Brisbane will enter a 3-day lockdown from 5pm today, Monday 29 March 2021.
From 5pm today, residents in the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan and Redlands can only leave home for one of these four reasons:
- To buy essentials such as groceries or medications
- Work or study if you can’t do either from home
- Exercise in your local area
- Healthcare or to provide help, care or support
All Affiliates/Regions must follow the advice of the Queensland Government and relevant health authorities.
All Touch Football activities in the greater Brisbane region must be cancelled or postponed to a later date.
Residents in locked-down areas must wear masks when not at home. For the rest of Queensland, masks should be worn while indoors outside of the home and private gatherings are restricted to 30 people.
We are currently awaiting further advice as to how this may affect community sport in wider Queensland, including clarification on individuals that may have passed through the greater Brisbane region.
Make sure you stay home when you’re sick and get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms.
