Queensland Touch Football (QTF) is excited to announce a new partnership with Burleigh Heads-based drinks brand Hard FIZZ, part-owned by international DJ and Palm Beach local FISHER. The collaboration aims to grow participation and enhance the touch football experience for players and fans across Queensland – ensuring participants can ‘dump and split’ into 2026 and beyond.

This partnership launches just a week before the Queensland State Cup – a three-day celebration of sport and community that will bring together more than 2,200 players from across Queensland, interstate, and internationally.

QTF CEO Greg Denny said:

“We’re thrilled to partner with Hard FIZZ to celebrate the social and competitive spirit of touch football. Together, we’re creating opportunities for players and fans to connect, have fun, and enjoy one of the most accessible sports in Queensland.”

QTF Brand Ambassador and former NRL star Scott Prince added:

“Touch footy is all about mateship and good times, and this partnership brings that to life. The State Cup is going to be huge – great games, great vibes, and now a great partner in Hard FIZZ.

If FISHER is available to play as a sub, that’d top it off – he can jump in my team! He used to play at Southport back in the day, so I’m sure he’s still got it.

It’s the perfect time of year to take up touch football with rugby league and rugby union seasons wrapping up and players looking to keep their skills sharp over summer.”

Hard FIZZ Head of Marketing Joel Scott said:

“Tuesday night touch was the highlight of our week,” he laughs.

“We were okay, but obviously Fish was a better DJ than touch footy player! We all still live in the area, so it’s great seeing kids get involved like we used to.”

With over 82,000 registered participants statewide, including 40% adult participation, touch football is one of Queensland’s most inclusive sports.

The Queensland State Cup will run from November 28 to 30 at Coomera Sports Park, featuring 134 registered teams from Thursday Island down to Ballina. More than a competition, the State Cup is an experience: DJs, food trucks, and a vibrant social atmosphere alongside some of the best touch football in the country.
