Queensland Touch Football is excited to announce that the Japan Touch Association will be represented at the QLD State Cup played at Coomera Sports Park, 29 November – 1 December 2019. The Honey Bees will be competing in the women’s open division at the inaugural state event. The team has begun training in preparation for the QLD State Cup and aim to showcase their high calibre of skills on the field, sporting several world class players in their line-up.
The Honey Bees team consists of many up-and-coming players in their early to mid-20s and will be supported by senior players who are seasoned veterans. Playing in an international tournament such as the QLD State Cup, will be a valuable experience at an elite level for The Japanese Touch Association (JTA).
The JTA representative team is certainly a team to watch at this year’s QLD State Cup. The JTA senior women’s team finished 3rd in the 2019 World Cup held in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year. One of their stand-out performers and player to watch is ‘Kana’, a world class player that will undoubtably impress.
JTA is also looking to bring a development team, to further foster their junior players and pathway opportunities.
We’ll see you on the Gold Coast!
