Queensland Membership Model
As of 1 July 2024, you are going to see some changes to the way your membership with Queensland Touch Football is managed.
From this date, Queensland Touch Football (QTF) will implement an individual membership model, in alignment with Touch Football Australia’s (TFA) move towards individual national membership, implemented in July 2023 through MySideline.
Our membership model has been based on team affiliation where a portion of competition fees were collected by affiliates as part of registration each season. This meant each time you joined a competition, a portion of these fees were then passed on to QTF to help offset the cost of administration of the sport, and a regional component to assist in supporting affiliates and growing the game. The more you played, the more it cost.
The new annual membership model provides a one off quick and simple online registration and payment experience for the participant, and likewise removes the inconvenience and workload from our sport’s volunteers having to collect affiliation fees on QTF’s behalf.
How will it work?
- From 1 July 2024, Membership with QTF will mirror the National Membership structure, where MySideline will manage membership, including payments. Rather than your competition administrator collecting and passing on your membership fees, you will now do that once a year via MySideline.
- When you go to MySideline to register into your first competition after July 1 2024, players will pay a $52.00 annual membership, prior to being able to register into a competition. This is combination of your TFA national membership fee of $22.00 and QTF membership fee of $30.00, including GST and transaction fees.
- Once you have paid your annual membership, you will be able to register in as many competitions as you like in that year. You will still have to pay the affiliate’s competition fees to cover the cost of running the venue and competition.
- On 30 June each year, your annual membership will expire, and you will need to renew it before registering into a new competition.
- There may also be a regional membership fee which will vary from location to location.
What’s included in your Membership?
As part of touch football’s exclusive community, the QTF membership provides our community with access to:
- TFA National Membership, including MySideline access, National Insurance Scheme coverage, educational resources, exclusive TFA benefits and discounts; and access to competitions and national pathways.
- Access to competitions everywhere in Queensland. For those who play multiple competitions, this is a shift from ‘the more you play, the more you pay’ to a ‘pay once, play often’ model which will reduce the cost of your participation.
- Development opportunities and pathways for players, coaches and referees.
- Affiliate, Regional, State and National events and representative opportunities.
