Queensland has again proven its complete dominance of all youth National Touch Championships, winning 6 out of the 6 national titles available.
The clean sweep began in the 18 boys and 18 girls several weeks ago at the TFA National Youth Championships on the Sunshine Coast, where Queensland Secondary Schools won the boys’ and girls’ titles.
Last week in Hobart, at the School Sport Australia National Championships, Queensland schools completed the rout by winning the grand finals against their arch rivals New South Wales, 9-5 in the 12 Boys, 11-3 in the 12 Girls, 13-5 in the 15 Boys and 7-1 in the 15 girls.
Queensland Touch Football High Performance Manager Peter Bell described the results as “simply fantastic”.
“Our system, which integrates schools touch with community touch and ensures the best players and the best coaches are developed, is working. The pathway is clear and QTF is committed to it,” he said.
Congratulations to all players, coaches, support staff and parents for a wonderful result.
