Queensland Touch Football is excited to launch the second year of the Women Leaders in Touch Football program. Established in 2023 with support from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), the 2024 program will be supported by the Queensland State Government’s Active Women and Girls initiative.
QTF’s ‘Women Leaders in Touch Football’ program will provide an opportunity for 14 women from across the state to advance their leadership capabilities. 2024’s group will join the QTF Women Leaders in Touch 2023 alumni, who completed the program in June 2023.
With a large percentage of female participation, QTF is focused on developing female representation in leadership roles across the sport. This program will provide an opportunity for women to develop their leadership capabilities but also serve as role models and create a supportive environment for the next generation of women.
Once again led by facilitator Sue Cormack, Consultant in Leadership, Strategy & Organisational Development, the 6-week program will commence 7 May 2024 and includes a face-to-face workshop and five (5) online sessions. Covering topics such as leading self, working in and with teams and courage in leadership, the program aims to encourage, support and enable females in leadership roles across the sport of Touch Football.
Greg Denny, CEO of Queensland Touch Football, expressed gratitude to the Queensland Government for their support in promoting equal opportunities in sport. “With a significant female presence in our community, QTF is committed to developing female leadership within the sport. Our aim is for this program to empower women, foster leadership skills, and inspire future generations of female leaders,” said Denny.
QTF encourages women from within their local affiliate, regional or state body to apply. Applications are open and will close 5 April 2024.
