Touch Football Australia and Queensland Touch Football have developed a suite of resources to cater for the varying skill level of students. The resources are not to an age group, but rather to the student’s level of development.

Programs

Play for life – uses modified rules to meet the developmental needs of young Touch Football players. The program consists of seven sequential, game-based lessons suitable for primary school students of all abilities.

Foundation Schools Resource – has been structured to work in school settings and follows on from the ‘Play for Life’ resource. This resource is designed to assist those with a minimal understanding of touch football, to deliver and teach the foundation skills of Touch Football.

Talent School Resource – has been structured to work in a school setting and follows on from the Foundation Coaching Resource. This resource is designed to assist those with an extension on the skills taught at the Foundation level, to develop and deliver a catered physical education program for students.

Remote Sporting Schools

Remote Sporting Schools launches nationally in 2026, building on a successful pilot to support eligible remote and very remote schools (Prep – Year 12) across Australia. The program is designed to reduce barriers, increase flexibility, and create more opportunities for students to participate in sport and physical activity.

From 2026, Sporting Schools grants for schools located in remote Australia will become annual grants (rather than a per-term cycle). Remote Sporting Schools is designed to better support the unique circumstances of schools in remote areas by providing:

  • Year-round flexibility - plan and book activities across the full school year (not just term by term)
  • Broader sports options - you can choose to deliver a Sporting Schools partner sport or another sport or physical activity that better suits your school
  • More control spending your grant – grants up to $10,000 per school annually with more eligible grant expenses.
