State of Origin 2020, Round 3 and Final Series Results

19 June 2021

Round 3 kicked off with a nail-biting start, seeing the Men’s 20s win the series on the back of a drop-off and the final score set at 9-8. While the Men’s 35 gave NSW an absolute thumping, winning all 3 games with the round 3 result at 12-4.

As the day grew colder and darker, pressure started to mount with Queensland and New South Wales tallying scores each way, turning the shield into a spirited game of tug-of-war. The Women’s 35 at equal with their male counterparts with a 3-0 series win, flattening New South Wales.

The Men’s Opens showed New South Wales how it’s done, winning 9-6 and a straight win for the series. The Women’s Opens had already closed out the series after winning games both games 1 and 2 convincingly.  Overall, the second half of the evening saw New South Wales come away on top, despite Queensland taking 6 Division series wins, including 2 Open grades.

Irrespective of the result, Queensland Touch Football could not be prouder of our Queensland players, coaches, staff, and officials for your dedication and commitment, we can’t wait to see you shine on home ground next year.

Bring on State of Origin 2022, the year we turn it all around.
