Queensland Touch Football is proud to announce the successful recipients of the Women Leaders in Touch program thanks to the support of the Queensland State Government’s ‘Active Women & Girls’ grant.

2024 builds on the program established in 2023 with the aim to encourage, support and enable females in leadership roles across the sport. Facilitated by Sue Cormack, Consultant in Leadership, Strategy & Organisational Development, the program will cover topics such as leading self, working in and with teams, and courage in leadership.

Sue is a well-known leadership consultant with an impressive 30+ years’ experience in sport and recreation. For more than 10 years, Sue has been conducting leadership training for Sport Australia, working with female leaders across state and national sporting organisations and will bring a wealth of knowledge and assistance to our female leaders.

QTF Board Director and 2023 Women Leaders in Touch program participant Lily Singh commented, “This initiative exemplifies Queensland Touch Football’s commitment to fostering female leadership within our touch football community. As a past participant of the Women Leaders in Touch program and current QTF Board Director, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of such initiatives.

“I extend my sincere congratulations to the 14 exceptional women selected to partake in this year’s program. Your demonstrated leadership within the touch football community is a testament to your commitment and passion for the sport. Together, we can continue to foster an inclusive and empowering environment for women in touch football across Queensland.”

“Supporting women who lead across a range of roles in touch football communities in Queensland is a strategic priority for QTF”, QTF CEO Greg Denny commented. “We’re excited to be able to facilitate the program thanks to the Queensland State Government for their support through the Active Women and Girls program”.

Congratulations to the successful candidates! Each candidate was selected based on their demonstrated leadership positions in the touch football community.
