The Queensland Touch Football night of nights is looming, and it’s officially time to submit your nominations for the 2024 Queensland Touch Football Awards!
The awards night has historically acknowledged the wide range of contributions that people have made to the game of touch football in Queensland.
The 2023 recipient of Volunteer of the Year award Dave Field said, “Receiving recognition amongst a passionate Touch Football cohort is a wonderful experience. The QTF Awards Night is a great celebration of everything that is fantastic about our sport”.
Field went on to say, “I am sure the 2024 event will be just as rewarding.”
This sentiment was further echoed by Therese Gordon, the 2023 winner of the Administrative of the year who said, “The QTF Awards is a fantastic event that brings together everyone across the state who is associated with touch football. It is an honor being recognized amongst your peers”.
This year the awards night will be held on Monday 2 December at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast. With proceedings kicking off from 6:00 PM.
In 2024, we will celebrate awards across a total of 19 categories that celebrate the passion and efforts that unite, inspire and grow touch football in Queensland. This includes two new award categories, Community Event of the Year and Referee Coach of the Year.
The Awards Nomination period will be slightly modified, allowing more time for the consideration of applications, short-listing of nominees and promotion of the QTF Awards night.
The total list of 2024 Award Categories include:
- Volunteer of the Year
- Administrator of the Year
- Affiliate of the Year – Large and Small/Medium
- Coach of the Year – Junior, Emerging & Elite
- Referee of the Year – Junior, Senior (Rick Borg Award) & Referee Coach (new in 2024)
- Community Program of the Year
- Inclusion In Touch Football
- Community Event of the Year (new in 2024)
- School of the Year
- Representative Team of the Year – Junior & Opens
- Player of the Year – Female & Male: Junior, Opens & Senior
