There are a range of opportunities available for both athletes and organisations to access funding in Queensland.
Updated 19 January 2026

Queensland Government funding programs provide new and improved opportunities for people to participate in sport and active recreation.
For Children:
Eligible families can apply for $200 vouchers to use with registered activity providers.
Each Queensland child aged 5 –17 can receive one voucher per financial year.
If your child received a Play On! Sports Voucher in Round 1, they’re not eligible for Round 2.
Remember to redeem your child’s Play On! Sports Voucher with an Activity Provider before the expiry date.
Round 2 is OPEN! Apply now and help your child get active: Play On! Sports Vouchers
For families seeking financial assistance with the compulsory costs associated with attending State Championships, please note that the Emerging Athlete Pathways (EAP) program is currently being replaced by the Queensland Government’s new Grassroots to Gold program, which forms part of the Queensland Spirit: The Road to 2032 strategy.
At this stage, further information regarding the new program, including eligibility criteria, application processes and implementation timeframes, is yet to be released. It is also unclear whether events that have already taken place will be eligible for assistance under the new funding model.
QTF encourages families to monitor this page for the latest updates and information as it becomes available.

The ASC comprises; Sport Australia — responsible for driving the broader sport sector including participation, supporting activities linked to sport and sport industry growth, and the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) — leading our high-performance sport system.

The ASF funds programs designed to increase healthy activity levels and grow participation in sport. Grants are distributed to support projects that improve access to sport for a range of people and communities.
The Australian Sports Foundation’s focus is on helping kids get active, breaking down the barriers of entry for women and girls, and on bringing more diversity to sport. We work towards an Australia where sport is accessible for all.
