Congratulations to all the Players, Coaches and Referees that have been selected to attend this camp in February 2023.
We are excited to announce that our Official Strength and Conditioning supplier, The Fit Lab will be extending its support of the 2023 Q Youth Academy to assume the Presenting Partner Rights of the Camp.
The Q Youth Academy presented by The Fit Lab is a 3 – day intensive touch football training camp for athletes aged 12-17 years and is an important part of the Queensland Youth player, coach and referee Pathway.
The program is designed for aspiring athletes looking to perform at State, National and International levels. It focuses on agility and skill components, fitness testing, body management and nutrition, and injury prevention, and includes world-class guest speakers on a world stage at the Gold Coast Performance Centre, thanks to the support of the City of Gold Coast.
Players are selected within the boundaries of the existing NRL Touch Premiership permits – Cowboys (from North Queensland and Central Queensland), Broncos (from Sunshine Coast and Brisbane), and Titans (from South West Queensland and South Queensland and Border Districts).
Coaches are appointed by QTF from nominations received from respective coaches from all regions and are combined to make the coaching team that represents each of the NRL Touch Premiership permit teams, Cowboys, Broncos and Titans.
Referees are selected from nominations received from all regions to join the Junior Emerging Talent Squad (JETS). The JETS program provides a structured pathway for young referees to achieve their goals with the help of coaching and support from other elite referees, coaches, players and mentors.
