Queensland Touch Football is proud to announce the coaching lineup for the 2026 Q Youth Academy (QYA) – a program designed to elevate Queensland’s next generation of players, referees and coaches.
This year’s Academy introduces a revamped structure featuring two distinct cohorts:
- Rising Stars: A new entry-level pathway for aspiring talent, offering advanced coaching and development resources for NRL-aligned teams including the Broncos, Cowboys, Titans and newly joined Dolphins.
- Future Maroons: Led by some of the most respected names in touch football – including World Cup athletes, State of Origin legends, and international representatives – this group is designed to sharpen performance and leadership.
QYA is more than a player development program. It’s a strategic investment in coaching excellence. All selected coaches will receive:
- Mentorship from senior performance coaches
- Access to expert-led presentations
- Hands-on experience with Queensland’s top youth athletes
The 2026 coaching group includes a dynamic mix of new and returning coaches, united by a commitment to grow the game, give back to the community, and build a stronger future for Queensland.
This represents an exciting step forward in developing not only Queensland’s emerging athletes, but also the coaches who guide them. By fostering a culture of learning, leadership, and collaboration, QYA continues to build a stronger, more connected touch football community. With passionate coaches leading the way – and not to mention the calibre of support from our QLD Game Development staff supporting program delivery, including World Cup and State of Origin representatives like Jayden Benbow, Justin Otto, and Katie Geiger – the future of our sport is in excellent hands.
Please join us in congratulating the 2026 QYA Coaches on their selection. View the full list of appointed coaches here: https://qldtouch.com.au/q-youth-academy-coaches/
