After three days of competition at Coomera Sports Park on the Gold Coast, the 2022 Queensland State Cup champions have been crowned.
The Queensland State Cup is an annual event, bringing together more than 1500 participants from Queensland, interstate and invitational international teams. It is Queensland Touch Football’s premier affiliate competition, with players from 15 years old right through to 60+ taking part.
QTF CEO Greg Denny offered his thanks and congratulations to all of the players, affiliates, officials and supporters for a great event.
“The Queensland State Cup is the pinnacle event for our affiliates where they get to come together as a community to build a culture that helps drive and grow participation at all levels.
“It was great to have so many teams from the regions travel to the Gold Coast this year to support the event, and be part of something that’s really special to our touch football community.
“Over the last three days, it has been pleasing to see so many people not only playing touch football, but loving touch football and that really motivates us to continue to deliver events like the Queensland State Cup.
“Congratulations to all of our 2022 Champions, there definitely has been some fantastic skills on display across the competition and we can’t wait to see you all in action again next year,” Denny said.
QTF Ambassador Scott Prince, who was part of the Brothers Mixed Open team that took out the 2022 Championship title, said that the State Cup is an event that he looks forward to each year.
“It’s certainly an exciting time of the year, and great to have the Queensland State Cup back on the calendar,” Prince said.
“The sun was shining all weekend, there were smiles on people’s faces, and more importantly we’re all here getting to play the game we love,” he said.
