It was another gripping day here in Bundaberg on Day 2 of the QLD Touch Football Junior State Championships.

The semi-finals have been decided and it seems the host region, CQ Bulls are still the ones to beat appearing in every final.

In the Under 12 Girls and Boys, CQ Bulls are currently sitting top of the ladder. The SWQ Swans 12 Boys sit in second place having drawn with the host region but remain unbeaten.

In the Under 14 Girls, again the CQ Bulls sit top of the ladder and SWQ in second place. The CQ Bulls will take on the SQBD Sharks in the semi-final which will undoubtedly be a hotly contested game to see who goes through to the grand final.

The Under 14 Boys SWQ Swans remain top of the ladder after Day 2 and are heading into the semi-finals where they will meet the BC Cobras who they defeated 10-5 today.

In the Under 16 girls you cannot go past the CQ Bulls team who have Sophie Duff and Emmanita Paki who both play for the NRL Touch Premiership Cowboys Woman’s team and have taken their team through to the final series undefeated.

The local Under 16 Boys, CQ Bulls have slaughtered all before them going into double digits in all of their games. It’s going to take a determined SWQ Swans to beat them in the semi-final tomorrow.

It’s still early days but the CQ Bulls may be the region to break SQBD’s 7 year reign.

Semi-finals begin tomorrow, Sunday 25 August, Day 3 and the final day of the tournament. First game taps off at 8.30am, followed by grand finals from 10:40am.
