Luke has been a driving force for the Rabbitohs on their climb to the NRL elite over recent seasons, but was not on the field when they won their 2014 premiership, suspended for a dangerous tackle during the previous week’s semi-final.
He made his NRL debut for the Rabbitohs in 2007 and was runner-up to Israel Folau in the Dally M Rookie of the Year.
Luke has now made 189 NRL first-grade appearances, scoring 36 tries and kicking 134 goals.
He also led Souths to victory at the 2015 NRL Auckland Nines, but joined the NZ Warriors for the 2016 season.
Luke debuted for the Kiwis in the 2008 Anzac Test and came off the bench in their World Cup final triumph later that year.
Also came off the bench (behind Thomas Leuluai) in the 2010 Four Nations final and has become a leader of the national side.
With regular skipper Simon Mannering unavailable for the tour of England, Luke shared captaincy duties with Adam Blair.
