Mannering captained the Kiwis at the 2013 World Cup and to the 2014 Four Nations title, and is now their most experienced player.
He made his Kiwis debut in 2006 and assumed the captaincy last year from Benji Marshall.
As a second-rower, back-rower or centre, Mannering is a defensive specialist that team-mates love having near them on the field.
He started at centre when the Kiwis won both the 2008 World Cup and the 2010 Four Nations Finals, and made his NZ Warriors debut on the wing.
Having grown up in Nelson, Mannering has been with the Warriors throughout his career, chalking up 200 games last year and captaining the club since 2010.
He has been named Warriors Player of the Year four times and was 2014 Kiwis Player of the Year.
During the Four Nations, Mannering passed Nigel Vagana to become the fifth-most capped Kiwi. Next on the list is current coach Stephen Kearney (45).
He stood down as Warriors captain for the 2016 NRL season and was replaced as Kiwis captain by Jesse Bromwich for the mid-year test against Australia, and the end-of-year Four Nations.
